I'm back. Did you miss me? Just stroke my ego by saying yes.
The reason I haven't been updating, in case anyone's interested, is because I've been out having a life. I know, I know... it's not allowed. But I have an excuse! Really! It's all Cynthia's fault! She's kidnapped me, dragged me out in the actual DAYTIME and forced me to be human. Guh. It's actually not that bad. I'd forgotten the sky turns light blue once every day, not just dark blue or black. And that big yellow ball up in the sky... that's pretty nifty. I'm still trying to figure out what it is; I hear they named it after the company where I work, but that may be just a rumor.
ANYway.
So Saturday is going to be Elitch Gardens day, apparently. Cynthia's only major vice (besides beer and guitars) is rollercoasters. In her words, they are "breathtaking, orgasmic metallic monsters." I keep wondering if I should take along a carton of cigarettes and keep her supplied after she gets off (no pun intended) the rollercoasters. I think my favorite part of all that is going to be seeing Cynthia letting the little girl in her out to play. She's a pretty serious, down-to-earth person most of the time, but occasionally she'll let herself go and get silly and giggly. (Shhhh... don't tell anyone.) It's a trip. I'll start teasing her, or we'll be shooting smart remarks back and forth, or she'll just be in a really good mood. And she'll start giggling and get this unexpected huge grin on her face. It's unbelievably cute. We got into a tickle fight the other day, which got us both squealing and giggling like little girls. By the end of it, we were collapsed together laughing and feeling generally silly and giddy. It was a blast.
On the few occasions she lets her grown-up persona drop, it's usually unexpected, and it's always rare and fleeting. I've learned to stop everything and pay attention to those moments, because I never know when I'll see them again. My serious, introspective girl acts like a little kid, and I love it.
Today is going to be short; I am leaving work before too much longer to go home and hang out with Cynthia. Of course I'm ditching work. Wouldn't you?
By the way, Meg of "There's A Land" (one of my favorite on-line journals) is looking into getting her own domain and she needs suggestions for a hosting service. All you lovely people out there (all three of you) could do her a nice little happy if you'd let her know of a good hosting service. (She already knows about Dreamhost.) Help a fellow wench out, boys and girls. She'll love you forever, and so will I. Kisses.
