Unix tip of the day: /var/tmp is not, generally speaking, a good place to store files -- at least, not if you want to keep them. Oops.
Am I a slacker because I haven't updated my web site in almost a week? I am? Okay, good. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was getting a life or anything.
Okay! Update, update, update on my work schedule. I am now working -- okay, I'm physically present in my office -- Wednesday through Saturday on swing shift. This means I get to sleep late and stay out late, cause I start work at noon now. Yay! If I'm going to have a stupid job, I might as well only work it four days a week.
Speaking of stupid jobs, Shawn called me from his this morning and rousted my lazy butt out of bed to do breakfast. It was a Perkins day. It's rarely a Perkins day any more, because as I get older, my insides tend to recoil at the prospect of horrible food accompanied by acid coffee, but today it wasn't too bad. Plus, Shawn bought, so that makes it all good. Remember rule #1 of being a college student, which I still live by to this day: never turn down free food. Yes.
So we bitched about work, which is what we always do, of course. Apparently there's a happy luncheon meeting tomorrow (see? they're bribing us with food!) discussing the outsourcing rumor. I wouldn't be so pessimistic, except my MANAGER showed up in a TIE yesterday, which he NEVER does.
He said he had an interview.
We asked him, "FOR you or WITH you?"
He just smiled.
We're in trouble.
