Title: Catching up on the weekend
Music du jour: Reel Big Fish, Why Do They Rock So Hard?
Random link of the day: Xena uber-fiction From Hair To Eternity , by L.N. James. Be amused.

It's actually late Monday night (the fourth), but what the hell. It's Tuesday somewhere, right?

So I had drill this past weekend. Woo woo. There wasn't a whole lot going on... we've got some birds down from DC that are going to be hanging around for a couple of months. I think they sent us their shittiest aircraft... the external fuel tanks are both reading high, even though they're bone-dry. Heh. My buddy Oscar (the one who I usually eat lunch with) didn't want to put our tanks on there at first, but it turns out the birds will be here for a while, so what the hell. It's not like there are parts to spare, either; we're the Guard. Heh. HOWEVER, we DID get two toolboxen full of completely new tools. You have no idea how excite that makes me. Maybe we can get some apex bits that aren't worn down and/or chewed to shit. What an idea.

It's been a tiring weekend in a lot of ways; I just haven't been getting any sleep. This was countered by the gaming party we went to yesterday at Bland and Jenny's place, though, which was a good change for both me and the boy. I have this tendency to overwork myself, which I did this past week, in spades. And boy, am I paying for it. I look and smell like a damn grease rat... I'm about run ragged. Ian gently chastised me last night for working too hard. It's ironic as hell that I'm such a slacker, yet I'm so Type A when it comes to my job. Who knew. But the gaming party was good. I didn't play -- Ian had my computer -- but I hung around and talked to Trish and Jenny. Slay/Bill (the new roommate) went along and drank beer. Everyone had a good time, and I grabbed Jim's butt a couple of times just to see him squirm. Heh heh heh. What? He's got a nice ass. >:)

Oh yeah... Bill. Bill is Slayer, or Graey, or Khaless, depending on where you know him from. He's bunking in the spare bedroom now, and is, surprisingly, keeping it relatively clean. I think that's the first time that room has been clean since my sister was in it. (It's the Locke family gene... we're packrats, and messy ones at that.) The varmints are trying to adjust to two new kitties in the house. Artemis is fine with it, having gained a healthy respect for Zip and Jaz's pointy front ends after a couple of good swipes to her nose. It's Solaris and Berk that are pouting. They'll get over it; give 'em two weeks.

I have a day off tomorrow. If I show up at work, someone please slap some sense into me. I mean it.

I need to blow my nose. I need to do laundry. I need to pay the mortgage. I need to pay the car. I need to check the mail. I need to figure out where Cynthia's going to sleep this weekend. I need to call my mom. I need to pick up ice on the way home. I need to brush up on Perl. I need to update my resume. I need to learn guitar. I need to lose weight. I need to go snowboarding. I need to clear my ticket queue. I need to ask for vacation time for this weekend. I need to get paid.

Definitely time to either cut down on the coffee or learn to deal with stress. You think? Nahhh.

I think I'll take Cynthia to Tracks this Friday and dance until I can't breathe.
