Title: Getting domestic
Music du jour: Some Meatloaf tape Bill is listening to

It's geek-out week for the Gooseman and me. We've been kidnapped and forced to take Solaris TCP/IP Network Administration all week. Could be worse; we could be on the queue. No thanks. The mail server was upgraded over the weekend, and I had ten or twelve frantic "allmymailisgoneineeditNOW!" tickets on Saturday and Sunday. I don't know what it was like yesterday and hope I don't have to find out. Ask me if I've been into the office this week. Of course not, you silly child. I don't have to; I'm in class. It's like a vacation.

That's pretty sad when you have to go to school to get a vacation.

So, the class is good. Shawn is grumbling at having to be out during daylight hours, but he's enjoying his vacation as much as I am. Yesterday was mostly review -- we covered the OSI seven layer burrito and the TCP/IP protocol stack -- so I was kind of bored. I passed the time by drawing all over my textbook. I love being able to do that, unlike in school when I was growing up. Heh heh heh.

It occurred to me yesterday that I needed to gain on my weight problem (har har) before I get LARTed next month at drill -- again -- so I decided I should go running this afternoon after work. Well, I came home, got my grubbies on, and can only find one running shoe. Mind you, I did find ONE, but not the other. Very weird. You would think I'd just lose both, but no... this is me we're talking about. I would have to lose only one. Of course, this might be an indication I need to clean my room. My wonderful and loving husband has forgotten the meaning of picking up his dirty clothes and putting them in one pile in the bathroom. They're all over his side of the room. I'm not much better, of course, but if I'm not picking up computer parts, I'm tripping over clothes.

Do you think I should clean and do laundry?

Nahhhh. Neither do I.

The cleaning virus is scheduled to strike at any time, though: Ian and Jim are planning to clean, inventory and move the garage this weekend. Well, not the garage, obviously, but the contents thereof. Apparently they have Big Plans(tm) to renovate it into something remotely livable, and Jim is offering to finance this project in exchange for free rent, minus the cost of storage every month. This could potentially be a good idea, especially if it gets wired and insulated. It's going to be the Geek Cavern. I'm thinking combination server room and wet bar here. Yeah. Party at Marcie's.
