Title: Happy Tuesday, y'all
Music du jour: Crystal Method, Vegas

I'm in slob mode today. Why do laundry when you can pilfer your husband's T-shirts and boxers? That's what I say. I've got on a raggedy old flannel shirt and jeans and a baseball cap that Ian picked up at a trade show last year. I look hideous. It's a bad hair year. Guess I'll have to get clean clothes one way or another before tomorrow. I can be such a bachelor sometimes.

Laundry was supposed to get done last night, but it was forgone in favor of trying to get EBBS running on my old P-100 Redhat box, which is a much more interesting project than finding socks that match. Trust me on this. I've always wanted to run a BBS, just for the sheer power trip it entails. Of course, it won't get any visitors to speak of, but hey, just setting it up is half the fun. I can be like w0b and have board names like "ArtsySpooge" and "Fuck". Heh heh heh.

Ian's dad is in town tomorrow on business. Time to hide the dyke books. I like Ian's dad 90% of the time, but it is my stated goal in life to never have to discuss queer theory with him again, which he insists on bringing up every time we get together. He's obsessed. I get tired of the whole gay debate... it's so self-centered. I get tired of being the center of my own attention. Which, of course, is why I have a Web journal. The irony.

Not much happened at work today. I spent half of it in my office, hiding from people and reading Web journals. You know, I'm reading too many of these things for my own good. My new favorite is Bobofett, run by Dana, who has more of my attitude than is healthy. And dammit, we like that. I damn near split my sides reading the archives, and I'm only up to October 1999. Hee hee... this is going to be one of my favorites. I can already tell. *waves* Hi Dana!

And in Geekpad Gossip this week: Jim has a Thing(tm) going on with a new girl. She's very nice and very cute, and apparently they really dig each other, judging by the amount of time he's been at the house the last week. He and New Chick are good for each other. This is very, very cool.

Ian is back from work, and he's bitchy. The usual brain-dead people stupidity is getting to him. I understand this. But in a way, this is good for me... he's insisting on going to Boulder for Hot Thai Food. I'm sure you can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from here. Oh, please, don't make me go eat Thai food! With cilantro and basil and lightly fried, crispy spring rolls! Anything but that!

Pad Thai is STILL the answer to all the world's problems.
