There's more than one way to do it.
I've been knocking out a script to shuffle tar files around over NFS mounts and such. It's all part of the Master Plan(tm) to get backups running at work. Unix Guru has a backup scheme sketched out in red marker on the whiteboard. I'm writing the scripts to move the tarballs over to the Big-Ass SAN. Yes, I'm having fun.
I would also just like to take this opportunity to say that I am so, SO glad I don't do Windows. Or Exchange, for God's sake. Oh, God, you have no idea. Truly. Our poor Windoze/network guy spends half his day fixing STUPID shit that is only broken because Windows, itself, is broken. Small wonder he's doing his damnedest to move over to development. Poor sod.
