Title: Take me to the country and dip me in some bliss
Music du jour: Billy Pilgrim, Billy Pilgrim
Ahh, academia. I love it. Classes... professors... pomp and circumstance... diplomas... DRINKING!
I am so amazed I'm not hung over today, really. The whoooole ESU crowd went to Bruff's last night and much drinking ensued. It was awesome. Cynthia's graduation was... well, it was long, honestly. Since Emporia State only holds graduation ceremonies in May and December, all the August graduates were at this one (Cynthia included; about 1100, all told). The day was perfect for a graduation: not too hot, a little coolish and there was a nice breeze going on. I have many pictures of the graduation and the party thereafter, but you don't get those until I get back home and have a chance to sort them all out.
At this moment, I am fighting off FUCKING CRAMPS and Cynthia is force-feeding me Wavy Gravy (oh, the torture). We just got back from seeing Gladiator. Two thumbs way up. Ridley Scott is awesome. If you haven't seen the movie, I must tell you: there are many, many, MANY sweaty, dirty men in armor with bulging muscles. It's a gay man's dream. (Although I wanted to slap the emperor dork about twenty seconds into the movie. Whiny little bastard.) I turned to Cynthia in the middle of one of the many gladiator combat scenes and commented, "You know, with as many macho Roman guys in this little gladiator team as there were, you know there had to be some serious orgies going on after the show." Cynthia is such a fag hag that she agreed with me wholeheartedly, which is why she and I are friends.
Anyway, I'm going to go curl up on the couch with a blanket and some damn ice cream and try to get rid of these cramps. Feh.
