Liberace, Move Over:

I forgot to mention yesterday that I got my keyboard. It's a Yamaha PSRGX76, and ooh, it's nice. I spent a little more than I really wanted to for it. The next cheapest alternative was a hundred bucks less, but the grand piano sound was tinny by comparison to the PSRGX76. So I bit the bullet and went for it. So far I am extremely pleased. The keyboard sounds great, and it has MIDI if I ever want to try that out. Cynthia's been noodging me, telling me I'm going to compose all the music for her stop-motion animation films she wants to make.

I have an appointment with a piano teacher tomorrow at one. She advertised on pianoteachers.com <GRATUITOUS PLUG>, which is how I found her. When I called her up on Thursday, she sounded out of breath and a little bit harried, which would be explained by the crying baby in the background. She sounds terribly perky. We'll see how it goes.

That's Entertainment:

Cynthia and I decided last night that, due to the good fortune of her finding a $20 bill in her bag, that we needed to go out to dinner. We decided on the Canyon Cafe in the new mall on the Boulder Turnpike. Canyon Cafe has the best damn breadsticks in existence. It's not the breadsticks that make them so good, but the cream cheese and salsa combination dipping stuff. MMMMMMM. We had beer, really damn good pork porterhouse and a very gay waiter, who nonetheless claimed to be a "red-blooded American male". Uh huh. After that Cynthia insisted that we find a bar so we could drink yet more beer. We drove around Boulder for a bit, stopping to check out a phone book so I could find the address for the Yard of Ale, a Boulder gay bar that I've heard a lot about. We finally found the thing -- it was behind the sex toy store, of all places -- and had a couple of beers while watching the gayboys dance. I think this may be a new hangout. It was a good time.

A t the moment Cynthia is puttering in the kitchen with her clay, and I am going to get a shower in a few minutes and then figure out my plans for the remainder of the afternoon. Later.
